It is a great honor for me to introduce Miami Lyric Opera, a company created to satisfy operatic needs of Opera lovers in the Miami area and to provide an accessible alternative for the enjoyment of the marvelous magic of the Opera.

MLO made its official presentation to the public as a Non-Profit Organization, on October 31, 2004, but started operating as an opera group a year earlier at Manuel Artime Theater and other local venues. Since then, year after year MLO has successfully presented over 20 different opera titles based on the Italian and French repertoire accumulating over 100 performances in South Florida which provided opportunities to a long list of local and international artists.

MLO productions are presented at South Miami Dade Cultural Arts Center (SMDCAC) located in South Miami (Cutler Bay) and The Colony Theatre located in Miami Beach. With the geographic disposition of the two venues, we bring the opera closer to the different communities of Miami-Dade County.

MLO is committed to provide classical opera to the public at reasonable prices, to educate, encourage and create opportunities for young talent for the community with the support of the community. We encourage opera lovers and the community to support our effort in sustaining our local opera company by spreading the voice, attending performances and and providing generous financial support.
